To
help increase the desirability of Downtown Algonquin as a destination
place for residents and visitors by creating an image that is
lively and dynamic.

What
is the Downtown Algonquin Partnership?
|
|
| |
It
is an informal group of downtown merchants, property owners, residents
and other stakeholders who began meeting in 2003 to enhance the
vitality of Algonquin's Old Town District. The Partnership seeks
to preserve Downtown Algonquin as the "heart and soul" of the
community and help businesses to survive and thrive.

What
does the Partnership do?
|

The
Partnership promotes Downtown Algonquin through a series of special
events and activities. The group is currently organizing a Farmers
Market to be held during summer 2009. In addition to the group's
involvement with specific events, the Partnership also organizes
joint marketing opportunities for businesses in the downtown, including
advertising in local newspapers. |

The
Downtown Partnership is a member the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills
Chamber of Commerce and for a nominal fee individual businesses
are welcome to join the Chamber through the Partnership's membership
and take part in networking and social opportunities. The Partnership
has also recently developed and launched its own website,
http://www.downtownalgonquin.org, to provide information
to the public about the downtown businesses and special events.
The fee to be listed on the website is $45 and any downtown businesses
interested in having their information added should contact Anja

Can You Benefit? |

By
participating! The Downtown Algonquin Partnership meets the second
Tuesday of each month at 8:30am. Please call Ben Mason, Village
Planner at 847-658-4184 for the meeting location. If you cannot
attend the meetings and would like to participate in special events
or advertising opportunities, please email bmason@algonquin.org
